We knew Rio was the photographer for us right away, and her unencumbered style, naturally disarming disposition, and keen eye collected photos that captured the life of the dining room as well as incredible still lifes of the food. Her photos have endured the test of time as we sneak up on 4 years of service.
Having a cache of high-resolution shots on hand has proved to be invaluable when the press has called. Rio’s beautiful photos have appeared in articles about Campione by the Montana Free Press, Food and Wine Magazine, and most recently The New York Times, when our restaurant appeared on their 2023 Restaurant List. Rio’s shot of our Linguine and Meatballs appears dead center across a two-page spread that includes 8 restaurants and only 3 photos.
When I submitted the shots, the Times photo editor wrote back,
